Early brain storming sessions quickly identified that while the Daring provides tremendous educational information the real benefit comes from imagining oneself standing on the deck of the boat and looking out into the surrounding environment of the time.
Some of the interactive learning resources include: pre cut models of the ships keel and frames ready for assembly, pre-cut timbers which can be assembled using tre-nails to demonstrate the strength and durability gained, use of a derrick and nets in loading cargoes, use of chip logs to measure speed, use of maritime flags in the era, knot tying and their uses.
Augmented reality material “of the ship” and “from the ship” recreating the world in which the Daring lived will be a vibrant way of telling the many stories of the Daring and the community and cultures surrounding her.
